Melissa Patton serves as the Executive Director of Carolina Land and Lakes RC&D, where she leads initiatives focused on natural resource conservation, community resilience, and sustainable development across North Carolina. With a background rooted in environmental and community-focused work, Melissa is passionate about bringing together local stakeholders, government partners, and organizations to implement impactful, locally driven solutions.

She has played an active role in advancing flood resilience efforts and regional collaboration, working alongside state and national partners to address environmental challenges and support long-term community sustainability. Melissa’s leadership extends beyond her organization, having been appointed to serve on state-level advisory efforts supporting recovery and resilience in North Carolina.

Melissa holds a degree from Appalachian State University and is dedicated to strengthening communities through strategic partnerships, innovative programming, and a commitment to protecting the region’s natural resources.
